THE MEDIATION ROLE OF THE HUMAN DEVELOPMENT INDEX IN ECONOMIC GROWTH AND LABOR FORCE PARTICIPATION IN UNEMPLOYMENT: EVIDENCE FROM EAST JAVA PROVINCE DATA

Setiap negara maju dan berkembang mengalami masalah ekonomi. Baik buruknya perekonomian suatu negara salah satunya dapat dilihat dari tingkat pengangguran. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian asosiatif dan eksplanatori dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Penelitian ini terdiri dari variabel bebas berupa Pertumbuhan Ekonomi dan Tingkat Partisipasi Angkatan Kerja, variabel terikat berupa pengangguran, sedangkan variabel intervening berupa Indeks Pembangunan Manusia (IPM). Objek penelitian ini adalah 38 kabupaten/kota di Provinsi Jawa Timur. Dengan periode dari tahun 2017 sampai dengan tahun 2022. Jenis data yang digunakan berupa data sekunder yang meliputi jurnal dan website seperti Badan Pusat Statistik atau BPS Statistik Indonesia. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah PLS-SEM (Partial Least Square Path Modeling) dengan bantuan SmartPLS 3.0. Berdasarkan data dan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan diketahui bahwa pertumbuhan ekonomi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap IPM (Indeks Pembangunan Manusia), pertumbuhan ekonomi berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap pengangguran, tingkat partisipasi angkatan kerja berpengaruh berpengaruh negatif dan tidak signifikan terhadap IPM (indeks pembangunan). Pria). Tingkat partisipasi angkatan kerja berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap pengangguran, dan IPM (Human Development Index) berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap pengangguran.
