INTEGRATION OF THE TAHFIDZ PROGRAM CURRICULUM AS A DISTINGCTION OF MADRASAH ALIYAH AL-MIRIYYAH BLOKAGUNG

The purpose of this study was to find out and analyze the integration of the tahfidz program curriculum as a distinction in the religion class of Madrasah Aliyah al-Amiriyyah Blokagung, Banyuwangi district, Indonesia. The type and research approach used is descriptive qualitative.
The data collection technique uses in-depth interviews, participant observation and documentation. The data analysis technique uses three interactive models, namely data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the tahfidz program is one of the leading class programs for the religion department at Madrasah Aliyah al-Amiriyyah Blokagung which integrates the national curriculum, Islamic boarding schools and the characteristics of madrasas. One of the characteristics of the tahfidz program being managed is the strict selection of prospective participants through reading tahsin and speed of memorization. Besides that, strengthening the memorization of the murajaah method through murajaah subjects as well as continuous murajaah activities in the afternoon and evening. While the addition of memorization which is carried out every morning is routinely required to meet the target of 5 juz in one year, so that graduates are able to memorize 15 juz. Assistance and management by professional huffadz and the policy of occupying special dormitories are also part of supporting the achievement of this target. Another advantage is the competitiveness of the tahfidz program students who are able to compete with Madrasatul Qur’an Tebuireng Jombang in the Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an, East Java Province.
