Abstract

Religious learning and tolerance were the media to teach students in understanding the message of religion. They could understand deeply the meaning of being religious. Therefore, it is a need to explore the process and medium of interaction in teaching Islam. This study was conducted in State High School 9, Manado City, North Sulawesi. In-depth interview and non-participant observation were conducted to collect data. Two months data collection was on 2016, from July to August. This paper shows that the way of teacher to deliver the learning material is the key to enhance students’ acquisition. It is a skill how to life together in the multicultural society. This paper discusses three points; they are media, material, and process of learning. Finally, this paper reflects the condition in Manado to extend the harmony and tolerance since in the formal education.
