Abstract

The curriculum is crucial in the world of education, therefore it needs good management to produce a quality curriculum. In the world of Islamic Education, curriculum management has two different systems, namely traditional and modern. However, both have debates, so the purpose of this study is to describe the two views. This research is a qualitative research with analysis method using library research or library study. The results of this study show that traditional conservatism emphasizes the teaching of the Qur'an, hadith, and fiqh with authoritative methods and memorization of texts. In contrast, the demands of globalization demand the integration of modern science and technology in the Islamic education curriculum. Conflicts arise due to differences in philosophy, views on science, and resistance to change. This research contributes to understanding and overcoming these controversies with the aim of achieving a balance between the preservation of tradition and the needs of modern education.
